Time for an update, ain't it??

The better part of this past year has been one neat thing after another: Ed got married, Chris ran for school board just to name a few. But now we are clear of those things and can get back to work on creative stuff. with great exuberance!

The last time we did an update here, we mentioned a full-length feature project. As was announced back in December on the main page, we can now say that the project is called KEYS. We are still very much in pre-production about this but Lord willing we can start shooting it sometime later this year. Click here for the official KEYS site, which doesn't have much right now except for a logo that incorporates a graphic that will have much meaning in the context of the forthcoming film.

The other big news is that as of this writing, KWerky Productions has an entry in the upcoming Fox reality show On The Lot, produced by Steven Spielberg and Mark Burnett. Within less than a month, Chris came up with the idea, wrote it, cast it, found locations to shoot it at, filmed it and then spent a harrowing nonstop week putting it together. The deadline for submissions was to have them postmarked by February 16th. Chris uploaded the film on the 13th and had it in the mail later that night. On the night of the 16th, lo and behold our movie started getting hosted at On The Lot! Click here to watch SCHRODINGER'S BEDROOM: a comedy about love, commitment, and quantum mechanics. We hope you'll enjoy the show! And if you feel so led, Chris would definitely appreciate your taking some time to rate and vote for the film. Thanks :-)

Expect more timely updates from here on out as we ramp up for production on KEYS.

 We're Back!!

After months of downtime, the KWerky Productions website is back online! No, we didn't go anywhere. We (Ed and Chris) didn't part ways over money or artistic differences or anything like that. we've just been so busy with many other things on our end (including Ed getting ready to be a married man :-) What happened was a LOT of stuff in real life occurred that kept us from getting to the website for awhile, or even doing any real producing of projects that we wanted to do. Now, hopefully, we are past that.

By the way, speaking of KWerky's online presence, we've set up a blog at kwerky.blogspot.com. It's pretty bare bones right now, but we'll be fixing that soon too. We might be using that to post a "production diary" like what Peter Jackson did with King Kong.

Watch the World Premiere of
THE BARITONES on May 1st

On the night of May 1st, Chris will be making a live televised appearance on WGSR's insanely popular (and plainly insane) call-in show "Monday Night Live", hosted by Ken Echols and Mark Childrey. At some point during the show there will be the "world premiere" of our latest film, a short called THE BARITONES. As soon as the show ends we will be putting the film online as both a Quicktime video file linked from this website, and a video on YouTube.com.

"Monday Night Live" starts at 9 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, and if you've got both the time and a fast Internet connection you can watch the show LIVE as it happens (but in order for it to properly play you might have to use Microsoft Internet Explorer. 'cuz we tried opening the page with Mozilla and it didn't work). You can even call in during the show and chat with us if you feel so led. If you miss the broadcast, you'll be able to find it archived - the date of broadcast will be part of the file name - as a Windows Media file if you've got feed-reading software (like SharpReader) pointed at Richard Moore's XML feed for both "Monday Night Live" and Moore's "Political Soup" show.

Oh yeah, and Chris is going to bring a copy of FORCERY along with him, so they may broadcast some of our first movie during "Monday Night Live Cinema".

A Feature-Length Movie is in the Works!

Let's close out this news update with the really big news: We are in the early stages of making a real, honest-to-goodness feature-length motion picture. Right now we're into the "early pre-production" phase, meaning that we're doing a lot of reading and writing and sketching out how this is going to play out, and not much else. We have a title, and a really rough draft of the story, and even a "teaser poster" made in Photoshop (but you won't see that on this site at all until we are ready to reveal it). We will do our best to keep you informed of this as it develops further. We don't want to say much more than that right now, but we CAN say this: it's not a Star Wars "fan film" at all, as FORCERY was. We're also planning to do our filming entirely within the state of North Carolina. Our goal is to have it ready by late 2007, and then we'll see what happens. In the meantime, keep checking this website for updates: what we experience as we make this, we'll share it with you.
